Vision Development
- the team will read and reflect on the vision to begin the
retreat.
Key Success Factors
- we will identify the "Driving Force" for the organization,
its required areas of excellence and the leaders "top priorities"
which will be required to attain the vision.
Situation Analysis
- we will review the current situation, document the "core
values", perform an "environmental scan", including
7 factor and 5 force analyses, in order to determine how to
bring the present into conformity with future requirements.
Motto Statement
- by focusing on the nature of the organization, its target
audience, and the relationship between the two, we will craft
a compelling Motto Statement that will communicate in a brief
powerful way the mission of the organization.
Objectives
- to ensure that we are on track, we will identify as many measurable
objectives as we can. These will serve as "leading indicators"
for impending success or failure. By monitoring these monthly,
we can ensure the vision is on track.
Strategies
- by analyzing the "fact-based" work done to this
point, we will find several obvious strategies to implement.
The process is designed to allow the strategies to surface naturally
from the "fact-based" effort that leads up to this
stage.
Action Plans
- many issues will arise during the planning retreat that must
be tackled later. We will create a list of action plans that
define who, what and when for each task needed.
Scenario planning
- a plan must remain fluid. To ensure flexibility, we will review
alternative scenarios. When the implications for these scenarios
are explored, tentative decisions can be made that can be implemented,
should the alternate scenario become reality.
Implementation/Review
- most clients indicate that this is the most powerful service
offered by Vision Planners. An "implementation plan"
and a series of monthly implementation review meetings
will be scheduled.
