Biography of Mark Sherren

After graduating from the University of South Florida with a BA in Business Administration, Mark entered the US Army where he was asked to join a special performance group for the Commanding General of the US Army Infantry School. Selecting from the soldiers stationed at Ft Benning, GA, Mark was able to recruit and launch an award winning men’s chorus which performed for many international military leaders and heads of state. For his work, he was awarded a special commendation from the US Army Chief of Staff.

After a time at Walt Disney World as a staff musician, Mark joined a major financial services company to form a start up sales organization in Orlando Florida. From nothing, Mark grew his team to the leading sales organization in the region in three years.

Mark then joined the faculty of a nationwide management development institution and was responsible for the recruitment and training of sales managers throughout the nation. He co-authored new training curricula and served on the compensation committee. During this time, Mark became noted as a motivational speaker, and addressed many large and small groups. He was awarded the Corporate Recruiter of the Year trophy by National Recruiters, a peer association, and received a letter of commendation from the US Army for working with Junior Military Officers in post military career transitioning.

After taking early retirement in 2000, Mark co-founded Covenant Consultant Group with Joe Weatherly. Among other things, CCG provided strategic planning and tactical solutions for organizational problems for its clients.

In 2002, Mark, Tom Lutz, and Joe Weatherly decided to join forces to enhance both the scope and impact of their efforts to assist visionary leaders in creating plans to advance their visions.

Mark is active in Kiwanis International, and he has been a committed layperson involved in Kingdom building through his church for the past twenty years. A SARA award recipient, he has also been actively involved in the music ministry of the church, providing leadership for numerous musical productions for holiday worship services.

Mark resides with his wife of 31 years, Ibis and three grown children in Asheville, North Carolina.
