Vision
Planners, LLC was founded by Tom Lutz in January 2001 to provide
much needed coaching and hands on support to lead a “Visionary
Leader” and his or her team from planning through the effective
implementation and execution of a personalized “Vision Plan.”
Vision Planners employs a unique and well-honed process that goes
far beyond the classic strategic planning model. In a highly effective
way, it guides Christian church and business leaders through the
skillful execution of those behaviors that will lead to greater
success. Along with this proven process, Vision Planners has developed
or identified a number of additional tools designed to help the
Christian church and business leader gain greater effectiveness,
including the acclaimed “Faith@Work” Seminar series and
other “Best Practices” programs.
In 2002, Vision Planners’ own unique vision to “Create
Plans To Advance Visions” went nation-wide as Tom joined
forces with Joe Weatherly and Mark Sherren, who had founded a consulting
firm that sought to help Christian entrepreneurs improve both performance
and witness through developing these same skills.
The Vision Planners principals are “bilingual.” By this,
we mean they have extensive experience in both the work of the church
and in the world of business. Tom Lutz has eight years experience
as a pastor and nineteen years of creating new businesses. Joe Weatherly
has four years experience as a pastor and thirty years as a senior
executive nationally and internationally. Mark Sherren has been
a committed and involved layperson with a successful career creating
vision, strategic plans and monitoring the successful implementation
of those plans at a departmental level for three decades. Joe and
Mark join Tom in guiding their clients with this special dual-experience.
Seeking God’s purpose for the “Second Half” of their
lives, this group of seminary trained, executive leaders have carefully
selected and trained a core of Independent Vision Planner Consultants,
who are also “bilingual,” to serve the Christian community
across the country. Today, Vision Planners Consultants are becoming
an indispensable resource for Christian ministries, church planters,
foundations and businesses who want to plan, grow and increase effectiveness.
It is the role of the Vision Planning Consultant to stand by our
clients and to assist them to both discover the unique vision God
has given them and to effectively implement the plan that will make
the vision a reality.
Using a variety of tools, including the unique “Jethro Team”
approach, our consultants are engaged in Kingdom building as they
help facilitate church plantings and also assist the ministries
of the local church and non-profits to spread the Gospel. Vision
Planners uses a number of highly respected “Best Practices”
programs that improve leadership and dramatically increase the effectiveness
of those ministries. They also work to build the Kingdom as they
assist Christian business owners to grow profitably and to improve
their witness by planning for their firms according to Biblical
teaching. In addition, they employ an extensive network of relationships
with other professional organizations that can be counted on to
provide a wide variety of Christ-centered services needed by their
clients.
We are humbled and excited that new Visionary Leaders regularly
ask us to help them define their vision, develop their strategies
and stand by them during the crucial implementation process. By
God’s grace, and in faithfulness to this calling to Kingdom
Building, Vision Planners stands ready to assist visionary Christian
